Senior Backend Engineer m/f/x

We are working exclusively representing a specialized IT-Consultancy in Nürnberg known for their "Engineering as a Vocation" mindset. They arent a typical "body-shop" agency; they are a small, elite squad of experts who build and run mission-critical systems for German federal agencies and high-security sectors.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who wants to stop "ticket-pushing" and start taking true Architectural Ownership . You will be building cloud-native platforms where stability, zero-trust security, and high-availability are the baseline requirements, not afterthoughts.

The Technical Challenge

• Modernize & Scale: Transitioning legacy-critical systems into high-performance, Cloud-Native environments.
• Complex Backend: Leveraging Java (LTS) and Spring Boot/Quarkus to handle sophisticated business logic and high-security data flows.
• Platform Ownership: You aren't just writing code; you are managing the lifecycle using Kubernetes , Helm , and FluxCD/ArgoCD .
• Clean Architecture: Applying CQRS , Event-driven patterns , and AOP to ensure systems are modular and maintainable.
• Observability: Taking responsibility for system health via OpenTelemetry and Prometheus .

Who You Are

• The Veteran Developer: You have 5+ years of deep Java/Spring experience. You understand what happens "under the hood" of your frameworks.
• K8s Proficient: You have integrated services into live Kubernetes clusters and understand the "Ops" in DevOps.
• Security-Minded: You understand the weight of working on KRITIS-relevant (Critical Infrastructure) projects.
• Consultative Mindset: You enjoy solving complex problems and can communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Language: Professional fluency in German (C1) is mandatory due to federal project requirements.
